Dr. Diana Hodgins MBE

Diana focuses on delivering high quality research and clinical trials for the elderly population and those suffering from the most common musculoskeletal conditions such as hip and knee osteoarthritis.
Prior to this Diana worked for a range of companies developing innovative sensor systems for a wide range of applications. Diana has many patents to her name.

Denis is responsible for the company governance, design, manufacture, quality and regulatory procedures within the company. This includes ISO13485, ISO 9001 , UKCA, CE, FDA and Health Canada Certifications.
Prior to this Denis worked for a range of defence and commercial companies, specialising in design for manufacture within regulatory controlled markets.
The GaitSmart story
Diana Hodgins spent years in the defence sector, where she earned her PhD for developing a solid-state gyroscope – technology built to withstand some of the toughest conditions imaginable. But 20 years ago, Diana saw a different use for it: helping people move better, for longer.
That idea became GaitSmart. By adapting the sensing technology Diana had designed for defence, she found a way to understand human movement in a whole new level of detail – and use it to help people with musculoskeletal conditions get the right treatment, sooner.
Today, GaitSmart holds NICE Guidance and is used across the NHS, in primary, secondary and community care. You'll also find it in retirement communities, through Age UK and with private providers – helping people stay mobile, independent and confident, wherever they are.
