GaitSmart was presented at Falls Tech Conference 2025. We were delighted that Birthe Anderson presented her teams work regarding the use of GaitSmart in their Falls Clinic at Your Healthcare CIC. New study with Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital led by Professor Iain McNamara
Can preoperative gait kinematic assessment and optimisation hasten recoveryand improve early outcomes in patients undergoing arthroplasty? This is a Randomised Control Trial, where GaitSmart is being used to provide a personalised exercise plan to patients preparing for hip or knee arthroplasty. The goal is to understand if providing exercises before surgery improves their outcomes post surgery.

The GaitSmart study, a project to support patients during hip and knee replacement recovery using wearable technology, has been shortlisted for a national innovation award. Dynamic Metrics Ltd alongside the Orthopaedic Clinic Research team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of East Anglia Health Economics team have been shortlisted for the Healthcare and Medical category of The Engineer UK’s “Collaborate to Innovate Awards”

Digital Health IUK Grant trials have now commenced in the NHS at NNUH
DML are very proud to announce that we are part of the MAP Rehab study, using our new GaitSmart 2 system. This is being run by the NNUH Orthopaedic Clinical Research team and aims to improve quality of life by reducing the risk of falls and arthritis for patients in the future. Dynamic Metrics is awarded Innovate UK Digital Health Grant
This project aims to improve patients gait after hospital discharge through objective analysis and recommended bespoke exercises with the expectation this will improve walking and movement and through this improvement in QoL as well as future reductions in musculoskeletal and other related health conditions. Trials will be performed on patients at NNUH and UEA will develop the economic model.
